There's already enough info to write a desktop client (or Quicksilver command) since it supports JSON and XML-RPC. It looks like an excellent API is around the corner. I do hope there's a way to put the client on the iPhone. It's exactly the kind of third party application the iPhone needs. I predict everyone will want presence once they get what it is.
Speaking of apps... wonder when we'll be able to actually reply via the phone client - not too mention get notified within it, rather than an email to web link.
We are currently testing a mobile client that supports both presence streams and comments. The guys want to tune it a bit more before the general release.
As you may guess, quite a few people asked for this functionality in the survey.
Regarding iPhone or any other mobile device, we have an XMPP (the protocol used by e.g. Jabber and Google Talk) based client-server protocol that is optimized for mobile environment. It is relatively easy to implement new mobile clients that use this protocol, and naturally we are happy to support anybody who considers this.
You could add Jaiku as a GTalk contact, but at the moment the result would not make much sense (the client would show raw XML and stuff). We are working on the whole IM integration hard at the moment, so that things like this would work smoothly.
I would also like to see maybe more of a Twitterriffic-type layout and such for a more Internet friendly device like the BlackBerry. (In a way like the GMail App.) Or even more simple solutions like email/US SMS access instead of international Texting.

The Nokia client rocks!

They should have simply developed an SMS UI like Twitter. Less function, sure, but far more compatibility

You can SMS to Jaiku... +46 737 494 0501 though that's clearly an international number.
What we really need is a desktop Jaiku reader like Twitterific

It sounds like API is coming soon, so hopefully some apps/mashups will start appearing

There's already a Jaiku Quicksilver plugin and a Twitter/Jaiku/Growl Quicksilver Plugin

Jaiku + iPhone = very good move. I like the Jaiku interface a lot - but I'm never at my PC except maybe on weekends. The future is mobile.

That was one of the things I requested in the little survey they are running. :-)

Same. And actually a way to simul-post to twitter... competition or not, I am in both places as I am sure most of us currently are.

is this ready for endusers? can we add Jaiku as a contact in GTalk for example?

Oh, that would make my life so much more interesting... and my Blackberry usable on Jaiku!
